Workshop Description:

Gravity got you down? Looking to add some play and liveliness to your riding? Learning to pump your bike through rolling terrain is the foundation to flow, and a key ingredient in the jumping recipe. Learning to push and pull your bike underneath of you can unlock all sorts of terrain features, including jumps.

This 4 session clinic will teach you the core technique and moves necessary to execute effective pumping. Following that foundation, we'll use similar techniques and moves on green through blue jumps. Our goal with this workshop is to build your confidence and consistency so that you can play with gravity, and maybe even defy it once and a while!

At this workshop we'll use our modular jump ramps to supplement the existing jump lines at the North Saanich Freeride Park. With this combination, we can work on progressing you from green through blue sized jumps (1-4ft ramps)

Intended outcomes:

  1. Safely and consistently execute sustained pumping in the pump track.
  2. Ride trail features such as green-blue (1-4ft) jumps with confidence and control.
  3. Increase your overall range of movement on the bike, giving you more room to play and adapt.
  4. Build the skill foundation necessary for tackling larger trail features in the future (drops & larger jumps).
  5. Have a blast learning with other riders in a fun and engaging learning environment.

Suitable for intermediate and beyond ability levels. Riders should be comfortable riding both technical and flow blue trails. Confident with your body position, braking, and balance on the bike. It's okay if you're not yet riding jumps, we'll teach you how to do that. If you're already riding jumps and are able to cleanly ride the blue and black jump lines at the North Saanich Freeride Park, consider one of our advanced clinics, or attend this one for expert analysis and feedback on your technique.
