If you are looking to get into mountain biking and/or are just starting out, our beginner private lessons are a great way to start your journey into mountain biking. Focusing on introductory skills and an introduction to the trail networks, these lessons will introduce the foundational building blocks to get you riding with more control and confidence.

One-on-one skills coaching is a direct route to becoming a better rider. What does that mean? Your coach will be able to expertly analyze your riding habits, and provide you with specific feedback and the most up-to-date skills coaching available from the PMBIA (Professional MTB Instructors Association).

Beginner Private Lessons offer:

  • PMBIA Level 1 or 2 Coach
  • Guiding, mechanical support, on-trail first aid
  • Beginner skills instruction
  • Beginner trail loop recommendations

*Bike rentals are available. Please contact us for more information

Before your lesson starts, you and your coach will discuss your riding experience, and goals, and assess your riding ability. Once the plan is in place, your coach will use a combination of: explanations, demonstrations, video analysis, feedback, and collaborative chats to instruct and guide you throughout your lesson.

Common skills that beginner riders can expect to improve upon on are:

  • Body Position
  • Descending
  • Line Choice & Flow
  • Building Stability & Confidence

After your lesson, your coach and you will debrief and talk about the next steps you can take to continue improving your riding, and send you trail loop recommendations based on your skills and interests.

Once you pay for your lesson, it can be booked at any time during the 2023 season. Erin from Info@nolanriding.com will email you shortly to confirm your desired date(s), lesson location, and any preference you may have for who coaches you.

Available locations for private lessons: Hartland, Harbourview, Tzouhalem, Jordie Lunn Bike Park, North Saanich Freeride Park, Cobble Hill.
