Ride Program Description & Coaching:

Our Ride programs are the entrance for many young people into the sport of mountain biking. Our PMBIA certified instructors deliver age and ability appropriate lessons to their students in small groups (6 riders). This creates positive learning experiences, and ensures kids are getting the most out of their time on the trails. With gradual skill progression, and safe and fun guiding, our goal is to equip young riders with the fundamentals that they need to be safe, strong, and confident riders.

Suitable for kids who enjoy the outdoors who have previous riding experience (on road, braking, gearing, balance). This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of mountain biking to beginners, and consolidate and refine the existing skills of intermediate riders. If your child is beyond the intermediate riding level look into our Rise Development Team

Each ride is part on trail lesson, part guided ride. Our coaches progress their riders through the 6 core MTB skills, over the course of the program. We strive to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young riders to build their courage and confidence. Small groups of 6 ensure individual attention and feedback.

Our coaches are PMBIA and Wilderness First Aid certified, and bring years of riding and instructing experience to each guided ride. Our priorities out on the trails are always: safety, fun, and learning. Through a combination of individual and group feedback, we make sure that each rider is being met where they're at, and taught the skills they need to thrive on their bike.

Our Ride Philosophy:

We see mountain biking as one big metaphor for life. Learn what your strengths are and refine them, find out where you're weakest, and practice and improve that part of yourself. Set your sights for the top of the big hill and climb it one pedal stroke at a time. Enjoy the views from the top, and then descend with focus and flow.

Major outcomes of our Ride program for our riders are: improved self-esteem; increased physical fitness and strength; resilience and resolve; calculated risk-taking, and pro-social values through new friendships and positive mentoring from our coaches.
